Aug. 2-4. Two nights camping in the East Bay. Maya's first camp.

is fun

when baby is asleep.

After Toli's work on Friday, we packed our Prius full of camping gear and food and went to join my friends gathering around the camp fire in the East Bay at Anthony Chabot Camp Ground.

We got there almost at the time they close the gate at 10pm, put up tents and went to sleep.

Theoretically she should sleep well, because she is in the outside breathing in the fresh air.....

In reality, tent smells different from her home, the lighting is different, she hear the wind and other sounds outside, she had to wear this warm snow suits it also makes noise.....

Anyways, it was so different from what she used to and she could not sleep at all.

I think I slept maybe two hours in total at the most over this two nights camping.

But I had lot of fun.

I looooove the fact that we have these great family friends who can watch each others' kids grow together.  

For me the highlight of the camping was the cute things those little boys do and say.

Toli's highlight was mountain biking he went with Massimo on the second day.

マヤ、初めてのキャンプです。

大人１５人、子供７人、犬１匹の大所帯。

３つのキャンプサイトに二家族づつテントを張って、

真ん中のサイトのファイヤーピット脇に本部席を設置。

みんなでワイワイ言いながら料理を作ったりつっついたり、

子供達の面倒を見つつ見られつ。

本当に楽しい二泊三日でした。

ただマヤさん、テントが怖くてしょうがないらしく、日中でも慣れるのにしばらくかかり、夜は全く眠れず。私はこのキャンプ中、累計二時間程の睡眠時間。

あぁ、ちかりた。。。

二日目の夕食には北海道の郷土料理、ちゃんちゃん焼きを久しぶりに作ってみました。

すごく美味しくできたー！と思う。

ママがお当番の晩ご飯を作っている間、
お友達のお兄ちゃんお姉ちゃんが相手をしてくれました。

蓮君「むかーしむかし、あるところにぃー」って
マヤに昔話をしてくれました。
