She attended a 6 week session of baby swimming class in her pre-walking time.
Then I got tired of dealing with after showering and such and didn't continue.
When I decided on the current three day per week pre-school schedule,
I was terrified that I would get lost not knowing what to do with her for the two days I am with her.
I signed up for another 6 week session at the same swimming class.
She does not need a swim hat and nobody else wears one.
But hey, it came with the swimsuits and she seems to like it.
I should put this on her before she starts refusing.
It's very very cute.
She loves the water.
She is not afraid. She can put her face and years in, can jump in from the side for me to catch, can bubble and splash with her legs.
She sometimes feels so comfortable, she tries to push me off saying "Go away!" and immediately after she remembers she cannot just float or swim.
The second last lesson of this session was memorable.
She pooped.
She pooped in the swimming pool in her swim diaper.
I had to confess to a staff and they had to close the pool for the rest of the day for cleaning.
It was a big deal.
I usually pack lunch for after class and have picnic in front of the pool before we drive back home.
Sometimes, we go to a nearby cafe for lunch.
I really enjoy sitting here in the sun with Maya sharing a sandwich.
And we head to our car and it's her nap time.
I didn't sign up for the next session.
Because the last few session she didn't want to participate in the class, wanted to just play with me separately and wanted to leave before the class ends.
I would still take her there if there is something she gets to challenge in the water.
But she plays there within her comfortable zone and she is feeling pretty comfortable with water.
I will bring her back there when she is a bit older and can learn more again.
