最近定番のこの４女子に加えて。。。

Girls Day again.  It has been a yearly event with this members.

初ボーイ。

レアちゃんの弟、ノア君。

忘れられ気味。

And this year, there's Noah, Lea's new little brother.

こんなに顔を赤くしてガンガン飲んでたカヨちゃん。

実はこの時すでに第二子を妊娠していたことがこの翌週判明！！

おめでとう！！！

静かだなと思ったら、ジャレッドが子供達に紐とおっきいビーズみたいのを使ってネックレス作りを指導。

Feb 16-19 Death Valley Trip デスバレー

Between Toli's job transition, we went to....

Feb. 4-8        Portland

Feb.13-16     South Lake Tahoe

Feb. 16-19    Death Valley (drive straight out from Tahoe)

Feb. 20-23    St. Louis (just Maya and Toli)     

Late February supposed to be the best season in Death Valley.

It's not cold or too hot and flowers just start to bloom.

It's 8 hours drive from San Francisco and ONLY 5 hours drive from South Lake Tahoe.

So, we decided to head over straight from the Japanese Ski House.

Before arriving to Death Valley but getting to the beautiful nature.

この谷を見ていたら

We were just looking at this canyon....

急にブワォーーーーンっと

ジブリムービーで見たような三角の戦闘機が横向きで下から急上昇して行ったからびっくり。

この場所について全然予備知識がなかった私たちは、かなりの興奮状態に。

Then we heard really really loud airplane sound and an army plane came up right in front of us being sideway and going straight up.

We had no idea what was going on.  

We got so excited.

Apparently, this is a rare spot which is in the middle of three army and navy bases where they fly over to do this training in daily bases. 

ここは３箇所の米軍地からこういう地形での飛行訓練をしに戦闘機がくるというスポットで、戦闘機ファンにはたまらない場所らしい。このおじさん、日本からわざわざ仕事の休みをとって、ずーーーっとここに座って戦闘機が来るのを待ち、音が聞こえたらササッとこの見たことない大きさのレンズがついたカメラを構えるっちゅう、趣味の方。

「こんな近くでこんな訓練の写真を撮れるのは世界でもここしかない」おじさん談。

ちなみに私もかなりのシャッターチャンスを捉えたよね。

日焼けしすぎて何人かわからなかったけど、

話しかけてみたところ明らかに日本語訛りの英語で、

横浜出身のおじさんということが判明。

He came from Yokohama, Japan using his vacation time to sit here, wait till he hears the sound, pull out these cameras with giant lenses and take photos of the planes.

谷底の砂漠

星がすごおくいっぱい。綺麗。

So many bright stars....

テントで二泊。

Two nights in a tent.

翌朝。

手荒く日焼け止めを塗られるマヤ。

どうしても「サンスクリーム」から修正がきかない。

サンスクリーン、だってば！

アメリカで一番低い場所。

海面レベルよりも低いそうな。

"Below Sea Level"

しょっぱい地面。

Salty ground.

The lowest strollering ever.

１５分ほどこの状態でハイキングしてると

マヤさん大きくため息をつき、

「はぁ〜疲れたぁ〜」（ロシア語で）と。

「あんたは背負われて座ってるだけでしょっ！」と鳥の素早いツッコミ。

After being carried for about 15 minutes, she sighs deeply and says

"Ugh, I'm so tired." (in Russian)

サンセット

翌朝。

一時はなんかの鉱物が取れて栄えていたゴーストタウン。

Ghost Town

帰り道。

１３時間の運転。

マヤ、よく機嫌も崩さず頑張った。

Finishing the trip with both Maya and my first Jack in the box.

夜の１１時過ぎに帰宅、３日もお風呂に入ってないんでマヤをまずお風呂に入れて、夜中１時過ぎにやっと寝付かせ、自分たちもタホ旅行から約１週間分の洗濯をしたりシャワーを浴びたり、、、翌日は６時に起きてここ３−４日ろくなものを食べてないまま旅立つマヤにおじややらおにぎりやらお弁当を作って、洗い立ての服をまた荷造りをして

８時前に家を出て空港へ。

トリとマヤはセントルイスへ。

私はしばしの休暇を頂きました。

マヤ、本当にお疲れ様。
