May 27 A Girl riding on an elephant

Auntie Leza sent Maya a big big elephant when we were still waiting for her.

We thought it was huge when she was born.

Now she rides him.

She rides him well.

Thank you, Auntie Leza.

May 24-26 Fun weekend out with Babushka & Dedushka

Babushka and Dedushka were visiting us for the Memorial Day Weekend.

We went out to Sebastopol (we like to call it Russian River Valley) for two nights.

連休だった先週末はトリの両親が遊びに来て、

みんなでSFから１時間半程北へ二泊三日で出かけてきました。

The house we rented on AirBnB was awesome.

They run Waldorf school right here.

Maya enjoyed playing with their little kitchen, doll house, instruments, playground, etc all to herself. 

いつも利用するサイトを今回も使い、週末留守にしているお宅を利用させてもらうことに。（私達も留守の間、家を同じサイトで貸して。）

このお宅、サイトにある写真で予想していた通り、ワードルフ式の幼稚園をここで営んでいる様。木のおもちゃや子供用サイズの家具がばっちりそろっているし、外に遊具まであって、マヤは朝から晩まで遊びっぱなし。

子供の夢の様なステイ先でした。

We went to quite a few wineries for tasting and picnicking.

ステイ先の周りはワイナリーだらけ。

バブシュカと私もかなりテイスティングして来ました♡

Maya learned so many Russian words from Babushka and Dedushka who're proper Russian speaker not like her Papochka.

She feels so smart, thinking she maybe able to understand the kids menu.

バブシュカとデドシュカとたくさん時間を過ごして、

たくさんたくさんロシア語が出る様になりました。

頭が良くなった気が本人もしているのか、キッズメニューくらいなら読めている様。。。

ってな訳も無く、マヤはおべんと。

Maya came home with full of memories and a few booboos.

We had great great time.

Please come and visit us again, Babushka and Dedushka.

あっつかったけど、とっても楽しい週末だったーーー！

May 8. IKEA with BIG MAYA

The weather was't nice.  Windy and gloomy.

We needed somewhere to let these two kids run around under a roof.

この日は風が強くて寒く、外で遊べなそうだったので。。。

おっきいマヤちゃんと一緒にIKEAに行きました！

IKEA!

They had so much fun at their kid's room displays and we spent whole day there.

大正解。

子供部屋のディスプレイで遊びまくって、なんならここでお昼寝もしてくれるんじゃないかというくらい「おやすみ」「おはよう」を繰り返しながら一台一台ベッドを試すおっきいマヤちゃんと、それに続くちっちゃいマヤ。

Big Maya tested out every single kid's beds.

Their kitchen was so cute and Kayo and I were debating if we should get one.

I told about it to Toli that night.

In two days, he picked up a similar used wooden kitchen from a neighbor.

yay!

キッチン欲しいなーと検討していた佳代ちゃんと私、

その晩トリに「もうちょっとしたらマヤにキッチン買いたいなー」と話すと

二日後には似た様なのの中古品を近所で探して買って来てくれた！

May 13. The hottest day in SF

今日はすっごく暑い予報だったので、朝から準備して。。。

ビーチに来ました！

Arrived to the ocean beach.

HOT!

So hot to walk on the sand.

珍しく二人っきり〜♪

着いた途端にお弁当袋を弄るマヤ。

Hey, we just got here....

Well, if you insist....

じゃ、しゃーないんで、君には水、ママにはビールを。

波はまだ怖くて足を水に入れれるまでしばらくかかったね。

She was afraid to go feel the wave and stood here for a while.

At the end she let the wave wash her feet and decided she liked it.

帰る準備。

忘れ物なし。

Packed up her toys and shovel and ready to go.

Quick stop to say hi to lions.

家に帰った後は二人でシャワー浴びて、それからダンスタイム。

Then I had late lunch at Burma Superstar while Maya was completely asleep in the stroller.

When Maya woke up, we went to have a bit more play time at a small playground.

The playground was so hot and empty.  Maya couldn't fall to any surface because that would burn her legs and hands.

I picked up a boba-drink, came home and took shower together.

It was a nice, hot and long day.

Especially that Maya didn't fall to sleep until 10:30pm.

今日は楽しすぎて、興奮しすぎて、暑すぎて、

夜寝付けず、１０時半過ぎまで泣いていたマヤ。

朝までぐっすり眠れます様に。

On Mother's Day

Thank you for making me a mother, Toli.

Thank you for letting me be your mother, Maya.

It is the happiest place in my life and it is great that I know I am going to be a mother no matter what for the rest of my life. 

It has been teaching me a lot.
I thought I knew how it would be like and feel like to be a mother before I became one.
I was wrong.
It's better than I could imagine.  The unconditional love I imagined wasn't enough.
Now I know the biggest love in the world and I feel it's growing everyday. 

With respect to all the Mothers
お母さん尊敬してます。いつもありがとう。

BTW the video is so quiet because I lost my voice from allergy today.
